The Independent Publishers Guild has awarded Berg the Frankfurt Book Fair Digital Award for the Berg Fashion Library.

Berg Publishers has secured its second success in this category, having won its previous incarnation—the E-Publishing Award—in 2008. It triumphed this time for the successful launch of the Berg Fashion Library, which was hailed by the judges for its ambition and for better-than-forecast sales figures. “This is an amazing project that has been carefully developed and beautifully executed,” they said. “It will be used for a very long time in its market.” Judges also hailed the breadth of digital innovation on display from independents in this category.

The Berg Fashion Library has been shortlisted in the category of Best Website in the Bookseller FutureBook Awards. FutureBook's first ever digital innovation awards, they honour innovation in all areas of the bookselling and publishing industries. The results will be announced on 17th March.

The Independent Publishers Guild has shortlisted Berg in two categories in the 2011 IPG Independent Publishing Awards. Both nominations reflect Berg's work on the Berg Fashion Library.

Berg earned a nomination following a year in which it grew sales and successfully launched its ambitious Fashion Library portal project. “Berg has had consistent commercial success and is moving forward to its next stage with its strategy firmly in mind,” said the judges.

The Frankfurt Book Fair Digital Award

Berg Publishers was shortlisted for its successful launch of the Berg Fashion Library. Judges admired Berg’s commitment to the digital side of the project, as well as its better-than-forecast sales figures since launch. “This is an amazing project that has been carefully developed and beautifully executed.”

Berg is delighted to announce that theEncyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion and Berg Fashion Library have won the 2011 Dartmouth Medal and the ALA Outstanding Reference Source. The awards were given to both print and online.

The Dartmouth Award, established in 1974, honors the creation of a reference work of outstanding quality and significance. The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) selected them for their "extensive and outstanding multidisciplinary coverage of dress, fashion and its impact on society".
